  1. I understand the argument from both sides, but it still seems messy. An individual’s ability to earn money from his or her own likeness seems fundamental, as does an interest in maintaining a designation between a professional athlete & an amateur. Very few collegiate athletes will be in a position to take advantage of an opportunity to earn a lot of money this way, and I see great potential for abuse. I can picture a scenario where a player may profit off of his or her likeness; however any money earned in this way would required to be held in trust for the person until the completion of
